Perfect for couples seeking a cozy retreat
The renovation is really something I must give them credit for, they kept the historical feel while making it modern and comfy. The bistro, where we had breakfast, served these pastries that were just phenomenal, all fresh and from a local bakery. I mean, it’s those little things that really make a difference, right?
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but for what you get, it was acceptable.

We stayed here for a night with our daughter, and the historic charm of the place really stood out. The fast check-in and beautiful grounds made our visit even more enjoyable, and we loved the cozy, comfortable room that felt like a home away from home.
My kids wished the restaurant had more breakfast options for families. It would be great if they could ensure staff availability for breakfast so that families don't have to worry about where to eat in the morning.

A Relaxing Weekend Getaway!
We had a lovely two-night stay in a well-decorated Queen Room. Jeannette at the spa provided an amazing massage that truly enhanced our relaxation. Enjoy dining at the onsite restaurant, which served delicious meals. Consider requesting a quieter massage space for an even better experience!

The historic charm of the building blends nicely with modern appointments, offering a spacious Queen Suite with high ceilings that feel inviting. The layout is easy to navigate, making it comfortable for a couple to explore the grounds and enjoy the aesthetic.
Though the historic architecture adds character, some quirks may be distracting. For instance, the door gaps from the room to the hallway are larger than expected, letting sound travel more than I'd prefer, prompting me to tiptoe around in the morning. Furthermore, if you find yourself on the ground floor, be cautious about privacy with just two shades—you’ll want to ensure you lower them if you plan to get cozy. Heating could also use attention. our room felt a bit chilly, necessitating a space heater that wasn’t ideal in what should be a well-warmed retreat.

Historic, Historic, Historic
I just loved exploring this stunningly renovated historic gem! The original architectural features, like those high ceilings, really took my breath away. Plus, the lush garden grounds were the perfect backdrop for some magical evening strolls.

It was just a reliable pick for a date night in Staunton with great value-to-price ratio. The staff brought us a space heater when our room was cold, which was a nice touch. If you stay on a lower floor, make sure to check the window shades for privacy.
